Heather Pascual

New Zealand born Heather Pascual graduated from Brisbane Conservatorium, then recorded for Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and starred in Marriage of Figaro as Cherubino for the Brisbane Opera Company.

Heather returned to New Zealand and studied with the late Dame Sister Mary Leo for a number of years starring in many operas. Heather recorded for Radio New Zealand in programmes of Brahms, Schumann, and Schubert. Recordings have included a wide variety of German lied, French songs of Gabriel Faure, and Spanish songs such as Manuel de Falla’s Siete Canciones Populares Espanolas, together with other composer’s works.

Concert work has included appearances with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, television appearances on programmes such as Stars on Sunday, Symphonic Pops, and numerous Rothmans concerts.

Opera Roles include Musetta in La Boheme, Nedda in I Pagliacci for Television New Zealand Channel One with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Cio Cio San in Madam Butterfly, Hansel & Gretel, and Dialogue of the Carmelites.

She was invited by Conductor Michi Inoue to sing in Milan as a result of her performance in “I Pagliacci.”

Heather now lives in Auckland, and has retired from professional singing. She remains involved with New Zealand Opera and music in general.
